67TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
OF
THE SOCIETY FOR THE HISTORY OF DISCOVERIES
The Society for the History of Discoveries is excited to announce that the 67th Annual Conference will be held in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
We will be sponsored by Memorial University Library, and meetings will be held in the Center for Newfoundland Studies.
The dates are 29 July 2026 - 1 August 2026. Please note that our Conference runs Wednesday through Saturday this year!
The Conference theme is "Islands of Discovery". Click the Call for Papers link below for a discussion of the theme and to access the form required for submitting a paper proposal.

SHD VIRTUAL LECTURE SERIES

43rd International Map Collectors' Society Symposium
The 43rd International Map Collectors' Society Symposium will be held in Japan from
9 to 13 November 2026 with the theme "Early Interactions Between the Western World and Japan Seen Through Historical Maps."
Presentations and map viewings will take place at two venues, Tokyo and Kyoto. The program will include excursions on the 10th and 13th, a pre-tour on the 8th, and a post-tour on the 14th and 15th.

The Symposium is sponsored jointly by IMCos, Japan Cartographers' Association, and the International Research Center for Japanese studies (Nichibunken).
